Darling, let me set the scene.
The sun was shining (naturally), my favourite vintage silk scarf behaved just right in the breeze, and my heart? Positively glowing. Why? Because I found myself once more stepping through the grand doors of Lisbon by Design: a secret little fair for those who know that true craftsmanship rarely needs to shout.
Held inside a graceful palacete in the heart of Lisbon, this event isn’t large or loud. No, it’s intimate. Curated. Magical. The kind of experience where you don’t just see design, you feel it. Like velvet on bare skin or a whispered compliment passed across a room.
Warm Welcomes and Familiar Faces
Now, I must confess , I know the founder of Lisbon by Design quite personally. A woman of exquisite taste and the rare kind of grace that feels like old velvet. Her charming husband, ever the discreet gentleman, welcomed me once again with a smile and the kind of hug that says, “You’re home.”
And it did feel like home. The kind where champagne flows, rosé sparkles in vintage glasses, and familiar faces greet you with a gentle squeeze of the hand and a sparkle in their eye.
An Afternoon That Unfolded Like a Dream
As I wandered from room to room, the soft Lisbon light poured in through tall windows. Each space held thoughtful, soulful pieces, the kind shaped by hands that still believe in meaning. It was never about display. It was about presence. About stories shared, slowly and generously.
One moment, I was admiring the soft folds of fabric; the next, I was deep in conversation. Not rushed. Never forced. Simply… connected. And isn’t that what true craftsmanship should do? Invite you in. Ask you to linger.
The Magic of Slowing Down
Something happens at Lisbon by Design. Time takes a step back. Conversations breathe. And suddenly, you realise you’re not just attending an event. You’re part of a quiet, beautiful celebration of things done well, and done with heart.
From the tiled staircases to the intimate garden corners, everything whispered: stay. Just a little longer. And of course, I did.
A Little Advice, From Me to You
If you ever find yourself with the chance to attend, go. But promise me this: don’t rush. Wear something that makes you feel like yourself at your very best. Take time. Smile often. Ask questions. And bring a little room in your heart for the unexpected beauty of connection.
Now Tell Me, Lovely…
Have you ever walked into a place that made you feel like you belonged before you said a word? Where elegance lived in every corner, and craftsmanship wrapped itself around your soul?
Stay fabulous!
